Inside the book

Hoppy is a little green frog in a small garden with a pond and a washing line. On a sunny day he sits in the sun and the flower opens up. Then a grey cloud comes. Drip, drop, drip! On a rainy day the duck splashes in a puddle, the snail comes out of its shell, and Hoppy hops right in. Then the sun comes back, and look: a rainbow!

On a rainy day, the white duck splashes in a puddle in Sunny Day, Rainy Day.

The new words in this book

sunny

The sun is out and shining. It comes up 8 times, and every time the smiling sun beams over the garden: Hoppy warms up, the flower opens, a rainbow appears.

rainy

Rain is falling from the clouds. It comes up 7 times, and every time a grey cloud pours real drops: drips on Hoppy’s head, the duck’s splashy puddle, the snail coming out.

Made for children just starting kindergarten. Each page has one short sentence (4 to 6 words) that begins the same way: “Sunny day!” or “Rainy day!” Only the second half changes, so a child can say the first half with you from the second page on. Tap “sunny” or “rainy” on any page and the whole garden turns sunny or rainy. Every other word is one a 4-year-old already knows, like duck, snail, flower, splash, hop and rainbow.
